I’m very sorry to announce that pawprint.ing will be going on hiatus.

The reason for this is the UK’s Online Safety Act (OSA). This new law would require me to implement extremely invasive ID and age checks that I do not feel comfortable with. It would be complex, costly, and carry severe penalties for even accidental non-compliance.

If you were wondering why I seemed to disappear with a lack of updates and interaction, this is why. I've been extremely stressed since this law passed, knowing at any moment I could be handed a fine or forced to shut down the site. I didn't abandon the site, and I'm sorry for appearing to do so. I know there's a bunch of you that love drawing on here, and it hurts a lot to have let you down like this.

As one person running this site in my free time from the UK, I simply don't have the resources to meet these standards or the ability to take on the risk of potentially facing large fines. For that reason, I cannot continue operating pawprint.ing safely while also allowing NSFW content in any regard - and cutting off NSFW content altogether is not something I'd be willing to do for this site.

I want to sincerely thank everyone who has shared their creativity, supported the community, and made pawprint.ing such a special space. This decision is not made lightly, and I deeply regret having to put things on pause. Please know that nothing is lost - all pawprints are safely stored, none of your work is gone, and if conditions change the site will be back and running exactly how it was. Please know how grateful I am for every pawprint you’ve left here.
